Outline: America's Best Children's Hospitals are identified in US News & World Report (May 27 2009). To synthesize the implications for pediatric nursing and SPN.To discuss the 5 ANCC Magnet Model Components and sources of evidence (SOEs).To relate the historical evolution of the ANCC/ANA Magnet Standards into the new 5 ANCC Magnet Model Components.Nurse managers can build an institutional research culture to improve quality of care using an EBP program that fits organizational needs. Having an EBP program with ongoing implementation strategies improves knowledge over time, and formal training enhances positive results. Providers with formal EBP training, compared to providers without training, showed a significant difference of 8.6% (0.6 points) in the average CPBE‐19 score in knowledge, attitude, and application in the last evaluation (p < 0.01). Outcome indicators showed significant improvement regarding knowledge (p = 0.038). Each implementation stage included activities addressing EBP knowledge, attitude, and skills. Several facilitators for implementation were identified. The model considered the basic elements of EBP and outlined different decision‐making levels in clinical practice. Fourth, process and outcome indicators were evaluated. Third, a multi‐stage implementation plan was conducted. Second, internal and external analyses contributed to assessing facilitators for and barriers to implementation. To describe an implementation program for an evidence‐based practice (EBP) model in a new Chilean hospital and analyze the program evaluation results.ĮBP is key to professional nursing for improving healthcare safety and quality.įirst, a literature review was performed to develop an institutional EBP model. Overall, the authors suggest the development of a unit for EBP to deal with issues related to clinical practice guidelines.Ĭonclusions: Expected outcomes for the introduction of the EBP unit and its policy include increase research utilization and accelerated adoption of new evidence, increase the quality of care provided, increase patient, staff, and managers satisfaction, and decrease staff workload by reducing complications associated with medical errors and outdated interventions. In fact, EBP policies and clinical practice guidelines should keep a live document and revise regularly or as needed. Results: A comprehensive description of this policy is provided with reference to the eminent steps of policy analysis and evaluation. We present an experience of one country in terms of introducing a policy brief to establish an EBP policy accompanied by developing an EBP unit in the hospital's country. Methods: The authors adopted an action plan utilizing a systematic approach to develop and implement specific strategies and policies to integrate EBP in clinical settings in Jordanian hospitals. This policy brief aimed to discusses the process of utilizing nursing EBP in clinical settings in Jordan. The current situation of EBP and new practice guidelines utilization in Jordan are scarce. Unfortunately, most healthcare providers and researchers embrace the concept of evidence-based practice (EBP) without integrating this concept in clinical settings. Magnet recognition requires documented evidence of how Magnet concepts, performance and quality are sustained and improved every four years. Background: Evidence-based nursing practice (EBNP) is considered a major and very important global paradigm shift.
